Our Life Together

The grace of community life was one of the fruits of the Grace of Baptism in the Holy Spirit, which the founding members experienced in the Catholic Charismatic Renewal.  Following Pentecost, the first Christian community was formed. (cf. Acts 2)  Charismatic Renewal and Baptism in the Holy Spirit, in addition to Prayer Groups and Communities also gave birth to Covenant Communities.  The visible strength of these communities is expressed in Acts 2:42 “They remained faithful to the teaching of the apostles, to the brotherhood, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers.”

Our lifestyle together is described in the document Common Elements of the Community.  Charismatic Masses, Local Community Gatherings, Small Sharing Groups, Formation and Pastoral Care, are the foundational elements in our life together.

Charismatic Masses

Whilst our members celebrate the Eucharist in their local parishes, on the first Sunday of each month we celebrate Eucharist together in a charismatic style.  During these Masses we are open to the manifestation of the Charismatic gifts of the Holy Spirit such as Healings, Tongues and Prophecy.

Masses start at 2.30 pm and are followed by a time for ministry to individuals and prayers for healings.

Local Community Prayer Gatherings
On the second, third and fourth Sundays of each month, we gather together for a time of Charismatic prayer and praise, worship, exhortation and fellowship.  We meet at
St Nicholas of Myra's Church Hall, High St.  Penrith, at 3.00 pm.

Entry to the car park is via Higgins Street.

If you would like to join us on Sunday please e-mail us just to make sure that there has been no change of plans.

Other Activities
Our life together is also strengthened by a number of activities such as Celebration Meals for the beginning of the Lord’s Day.  These consist of a short ceremony to welcome the Day of the Lord, then we share a meal together and a time of fellowship.  Fun Weekends and other social activities are also integral parts of Community life.

In addition to the above, we are all encouraged to pray and read sacred Scripture daily, to celebrate the Eucharist and partake in the Sacraments as often as we can.
